Hi, I’m Kayla.
The voice behind The Pour Over Edit.
This space was created in a season where I realized how much I had been rushing through life… and how much I was missing because of it.
Somewhere along the way, I lost sight of the simple things.
The quiet.
The stillness.
The moments that make life feel full.
So this became a place to come back to that.
To slow down.
To be more intentional.
To find meaning in the everyday again.
And to become the best version of myself along the way.
This season has also reminded me how important it is to have people in your corner.
I’ve been incredibly lucky to have a strong support system through the harder, more overwhelming seasons of life. The kind of people who show up, who listen, who remind you who you are when you feel a little lost.
I know not everyone has that.
And I don’t take it for granted.
In a way, that’s part of why this space exists.
Because sometimes you just need a soft place to land.
A place to feel seen.
A place to take what you need, and leave the rest.
I’ve always felt like I have a lot to say…
I just was never quite sure how I wanted to share it.
And if I’m being honest, I think part of that came from worrying about what other people would think.
But this feels different.
The Pour Over Edit is a space for real conversations, honest thoughts, and the messy middle of becoming.
Nothing perfect.
Nothing overly curated.
Just real life… poured slowly.
If you’re here, take what you need.
I’m really glad you found your way.
Pour your coffee, stay awhile.

☕️ A few things about me
- summer is my favorite season
- always happiest at the lake or on the road with our travel trailer, dogs included, chasing the sunshine
- certified beverage girly… coffee first, but a crisp Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper is a close second. I’m almost always carrying around a large mason jar filled to the top with ice, fresh lime & mint, topped with water
- lifelong big sister… she’s my best friend. – Still one of my favorite roles
- if I love you, I’m probably cooking for you or showing up with a little something
- my family swears I make the best salad… so if you invite me to dinner, I’m probably bringing one (homemade dressing included)
- I have more Yeti cups than I’d like to admit… and I’ll probably buy another one
- slightly obsessed with skincare and lucky to have the best esthetician
- forever a girls girl
- my husband’s biggest fan
- my day job is being an RN, and my favorite part is working with nursing students and mentoring new grads as they find their confidence
- my phone is almost always on Do Not Disturb… I probably don’t know where it is, it’s at 3% battery, and yes, there are likely 200+ unread texts and missed calls. I promise I’m not ignoring you… I used to blame night shift, but now I don’t really have an excuse
